Hello and welcome to the Fancy Folds Design Team March Blog Hop. You are currently visiting me, Gina Connor AKA Emerald Kreations, from Northern Ireland. This month’s Fancy Fold is the Double Z Card which I really enjoyed making!
I love doing Fancy Fold cards as they create more of an artistic challenge, first you have a fancy fold – in this case the Double Z card fold, then you have decide what stamp set would suit it and as we all know Stampin’ Up! gives such a variety of stamp sets that the problem may be choosing one! Today I choose Cake Soiree.
I thought I would keep it simple, I used Thick Whisper White card and Berry Burst with a little bit of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and a little bit of silver- for just a little bit of sparkle.
The sentiments in the Cake Soiree stamp set are lovely, not too over the top! I stamped the verse at the front with Smokey Slate ink as I thought it complimented the Berry Burst.
I am a great fan of Wink Of Stella! I use it on all my cards – my customers will agree with me there! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to pick up the sparkle for you but I have coloured the flowers in with the Wink of Stella pen, pulling the colour from the stamped image. I then lifted some ink from the stamp (the one that I used to stamp the flower image, as you only need such a tiny little bit) and added a slightly darker colour around the “petal folds” on the flower.
Did you notice the little shamrock in the photographs? I was tidying out a cupboard at the weekend and came across a little box that used to belong to my mum. In the box was this little brooch, I’m not sure of the story behind it but I thought that since my logo has a little shamrock in it, I would keep and use this little brooch as my little emblem and remember my mum as she was a great crafter, mainly sewing, but I do have many happy childhood memories sitting cutting up old cards and making scrapbooks, little did I know then, I would be making cards and scrapbooking for a job in my adult life!
